About Me

IMG_0408.JPG

I’m a print and web journalist originally from Chicago who got my start reporting abroad in Athens, Greece for an English speaking newspaper, followed by an internship at the Associated Press, then a stint of radio reporting at Metropolitan Radio. Since arriving in the U.S. in 2000, I’ve covered stories from breaking news to art features.

My reported stories have varied from breaking news like mass shootings & racially-motivated killings to investigations into deadly wildfires, third-trimester abortions, deadly scams, & a botched U.S. military strike; from profiles of whistleblowers & world renowned athletes to art and film.

Despite the often joyless stories I cover, I haven’t given up on humankind. Despite the digital revolution, I still believe in slow news. Despite all the noise, I still believe I can find a compelling story in everyone.

In addition to writing, I have produced documentaries, edited books, and taught ESOL and high school. I have a bachelor degree in English Literature and a master’s degree in Education.
